Review: The Kills

The Kills wow a packed out Trinity

Alison "VV" Mosshart paces in circles around the stage like a caged animal, wearing a leopard print shirt and tight, tight slacks as the instantly recognisable "URA FEVER" dials up and the drum machine kicks in - the whole effect is sleazy and undeniably sexy and the crowd are mesmerised.

The sexual chemistry The Kills are famed for tingles like a sour cherry on the tongue as they thrash out their trashy electro-rock, keeping things minimal yet compelling with stripped down guitar rifts and always that drum machine.

The duo's performance is a mixture of 'couldn't give a monkeys' rock nonchalance and crowd pleasing pouts and hair flicks as VV straddles an amp and runs her finger through her hair, before circling the mic once more without even a glance to the crowd. We emerge clammy, dishevelled and satisfied.
