Xrun
Up to Glossary
An Xrun is a buffer underrun , this happens when the the data cannot
be supplied fast enough to a device , in this case it is when there
is not enough processing resources to output the data fast enough
which causes the soundcard to jack to pass an empty frame of data.
This is usually caught by the software and no noise comes out but
it can sometimes escape and cause clicks , pops or scratchy noises.
Jack keeps a count of xruns , one or two isn't too bad but more than
5 in a minute means you need to reconfigure a bit or upgrade.
When Xruns occur you are at the limit of the machines capacity.
